Wet/dry's are obselete, nitrate factories. Noone uses them anymore, they are actually a must NOT have.
Maybe you can gut it out and save your $$$ loss by turning it into a sump. If you dont believe me, research any reef site and you'll see for yourself. Maybe give us your tech specs, and some pics and we can help you get useful equipment.
