is this too small to pull nitrates with chaeto & grow pods for a 65? What did you have it hooked up to? How crucial is that screw you're missing?

I had hooked up on a biocube 14 and then i had it on my 30g Breeder.
it will definitely pull nitrates with chaeto & grow pods But it small for a 65g.
The screw is to level the refuge Horizontally. i use a little clap when i had it on the side of the biocube. On the 30g i had on the side of the tank against my wall with no issues.
