Purple Queen Anthias

I bought 2 of these the other day from MA. Now I know it's my responsibility to research before I buy but after seeing them for a few days not really reacting to the foods I give the tank I check online and sure enough read how difficult they are to keep and feed. I bought them for abt 32 each. If someone knows how to keep these I'll sell them for 25 each. I just don't want them to die. Located in brooklyn 11229. Please pm me.

I'm not sure. They may be getting plankton from water but they're certainly not going after the things I feed the rest of the fish...cyclopeze, brine, mysis etc.

Yea a friend of mines went through the same thing and actually bought his from MA also lol anyway long story short he had same situation and I believe the fish finally started eating after acouple of days and heavy feedings I believe he tried all different sorts of food mysis pellets bloodworms and brine shrimp don't know which one the fish actually went for but jus keep trying

Agreed. They are beautiful fish but are extremely difficult to keep.

Yes I know that and that's why I want to sell them to someone who has some already or who knows how to keep them.

give them time they will eat. mine didnt give a crap about the food a a week or so. now they eat like pigs

Try live brine shrimp soaked in Selcon and Garlic Extreme. After they go for that, switch to a live brine/frozen mysis blend. That usually works for finicky eaters.

i have this stuff called entice.. you soak your food in it and supposedly the finicky fish start eating... You could order it online or come to my house in si to pick some up

Hi, I also got a purple queen, from M/A, like jay (jr973) mention. I have my for about 3 weeks already.. I try allot stuff, but what it seen to work was live miss shrimp and caviar

I'll take them but I'm upgrading my 90g to a 180g in the next two week, and It will be to stressful for the fish,, but once my 180g is ready I'll happy take a donation ..
