  3. Dog Behavior

When we adopted our little Rocky over 9 years ago, we were told to put some loose change in an empty beer can and to keep it with us all the time. And any time he did something that he wasnt suppose to do was to shake the can. I know some people might think it is cruel, but it does work. As far...

Very nice write up, hope that any newbiee sees this and does the right thing. As far as TDS my outout from my pipes are 150. after going thru 9 stages I manage to get them down to 0. 6. Pvc

The only differance between s40/and s80. is the thickness of the walls. s40 is common, you don't need to spend your money on s80. s80 is a pressure rated pipe, and we don't even get to the rating of a s40. Unless you like the look of the gray, save your money, and put it towards something else.

  10. Drain sizes

NO. if you put a ball valve and union on a 1 1/4" bulk head, the inside dimension would be smaller, causing calvatation. I would go with 1 1/2" and reduce it to 1 1/4 at the inlet of the pump and not before
  11. Drain sizes

that sounds like a better idea, flipping the tanks, just make sure the skimmer will fit in it. as far as putting the fuge and sump together. you can build a table higher than the sump for the fuge and have it gravity feed, using 1" bulkhead. and supply it with 3/4" hose or pvc.
  12. Richie's Reef

Thanks Big S, lets get together one day
  13. Richie's Reef

I had a kessil 150 over a small tank, that I was just trying out, and I didnt like the color or the spread of light that it was giving me. And I'm not a big fan of multi chip leds in one unit either. It was just on/off. no control. I like the idea that I can have sunrise and sunset, and to be...
  14. Drain sizes

Lol, the 120 started as a fuge, and now its another reef. The tank is feed of a manifold and drains back into my sump. Its a standard 120 RR. 48x24x24. I don't think the 29 will be enough for yoto use as a sump. Your dt is 300 gallons, I normaly calculate 20% drain down, in your case it would be...
  15. Sump build 40br

    Great design.
  16. Drain sizes

I would run the 1 1/2" as high as you can to the dt and than reduce down to what you need.
  17. Sump build 40br

Let me know when you are ready.
  18. Richie's Reef

LOL, no Tom they are not from you. I can't pinpoint where they came from because I got lazy on my part and didn't log where the last couple of pieces of sps came from, and my mistake for not dipping. I should have some interceptor pretty soon to start treatment.
  19. Richie's Reef

I love the lights, I have great growth, and great coloration. I am able to keep my temp in control without a problem. And to top it off savings on my electric bill.
