Buying a generator is real easy. You need a licensed plumber and electrician to properly install a whole-house NG generator and fill out all necessary permits. My guesstimate is that a $3K generator will cost $6-8K to install. I am actually interested if this is the right ballpark. Let me know. :-)
Dottyback is a very healthy beautiful color, but just too mean for my tank. SOLD

Have any of you guys seen a tank that has a mix of 2:1 of RB to 4500K neutral white LEDs? LED color mixing is not the same as regular MH or T5 lights. Of course you are not going to put a light that is purely 4500K. Its the mix that creates the right color. RB with 4500K creates a roughly...
He is one amazing guy. A high school dropout that owns a company that re-manufactures pharmaceutical grade test equipment. In one picture you see his Ferrari engine blew up so he took it out and is fixing it in his own garage! His water comes from a well, but he has designed and built an...
I use oceanic 6 gallon bucket. To hide it I use modified Ikea kitchen cabinet. It also contains all the power bars for Reefkeeper and JBJ ATO. That's my little secret. You can build a lot of really nice looking furniture out of Ikea kitchen parts. If you need smaller/shallower cabinet, just cut...
I hate to be the first one to break it to you but you will be hard pressed to grow any kind of coral with two 43 watt LEDs that you bought. Even if they were Cree which these are not you need at least 200watts like Wingo said for 100G. I would return them if you still can. 600 is insane for these.
IMHO wrong spectrum. Your par bulb probably has royal blue which makes the overall color closer to 10K. I moved cheato from my DT to the fuge and I was that light, almost transparent color that it turned under my LEDs. Now it's dark green under a 5K daylight bulb in the fuge. I am thinking o...
Disagree about mixing salt brands. One of the AOTM on reefcentral specifically uses a mix of Instant Ocean and Oceanic. One is high in Ca and Mg the other in alkalinity. I have adopted this method for the past few months. Seems to be working okay. But I am a newbie so what do I know lol
I have the same device and similar issue. You should measure 3 times at least. Mine shows off the first time I measure out of the box then after 2-3 measurements it stabilizes. Good luck.
Funny tank iPhone pics
10K/RB Bridgelux from Aquastyle 1:1 mix on the left. Red and green added on the right. Notice the disco ball colors on the sand!
I have them. I don't like the 10K/RB mix color. 10K is too high IMHO. Makes the tank/rocks look sterile. I added deep red and green from Satis, but perhaps too much red. Re-doing these lights takes forever. :-) Waiting on some neutral whites from led group buy. I don't have their drivers. I used...
