I started up a 40 gal FOWLR a few months ago and used about 20 gallons from my 2 other tanks....I also used a lot of seed sand from the tanks and all cure live rock......I barely had any noticable cycle at all.
Found this guy in my reef, looking like he was munching on a coral that's not doing so hot.....I dont know if hes the reason or if he's just cleaning up the mess.
Any ideas what he is? I took him out anyways.....
My LFS told me that those fish commonly get a type of tuberculosis....
I know it sounds crazy but I had a few die from the same type of thing you are describing
