I'm a soft coral fanatic and really enjoy the sway of tentacles and the various colors, so I thought I would see who has some large soft corals. I have a 75g and have some large softies and would love to see how big these guys can get in larger tanks. So if you got some pic's post them so we can see who has the biggest! LOL

My tank of softies...

I gave in to peer pressure, a fellow reefer kept saying "you gotta let me have a piece of that"

I'll add a pic later but I do have a Finger leather that's over 12 inches across. . . I've been getting cuttings off of him for years. He was actually the first coral I ever bought (back when I only had a 30 gallon reef). He was only about 4 inches across at that time. Your tank looks great and I loved your subject. . . be sure to notice all of the names of everyone in here. . . they all clicked to see the size of YOUR softie. . ha!

~ps - the kenya tree in my avatar was about 15 inches tall when that picture was taken. . . unfortunately i lost that piece when my pump died while i was on vacation. . . my tank sitter didn't notice how quiet the room had gotten. luckily i was able to cut off everything but the base and i now have an 8 inch piece growing in its place!

Unleashed here's one at the Steinhart Aquarium I took when this tank opened last year (5 meter tall aquarium). Here's a leather that literally could double as a comforter for a kingsized bed, unfortunately due to the perspective of the picture (I was shooting the foxface) it doesn't look terribly large, but that leather is about 10 feet behind the foxface (which is a large specimin too maybe 9-10") .

btw I guess my joke now of "about 6 inches soft" would be a little late?... and in the wrong forum?

Well it asked for softies :D

Besides if you're a leather coral that's atleast 5 feet across you'd not have much energy to hold yourself up either :)

The leather coral was a slower grower but not very slow. The picture was taken in Aug 04 here is a pic of it from Oct 2000.

I had a different leather coral that grew to a few feet across in a few years, I chopped it up and traded it away long ago. I still have a medium one but prune it often.
