difference :mounted and unmounted sps

is there any difference between mounted and unmounted sps. i have a frag that was unmounted and i just stuck it in a hole in the LR. should i mount it first then stick it on the LR?

If that where you want it and it wont get knocked off by snails or other invertas ,then your are good ,most ppl glue unmounted sps right to the rock ,other to a disc or plug

it can be a pain if u attatch it to a big rock since you wont be able to move it lateronce it encrusts. i prefer to mount them to small rocks or frag plugs.

i just place them and let them mount themselves. this way they cant fall anymore and they get to grow how they want. anyway it is not a good idea to move your corals around once they are happy in a spot.
