Ghl profilux does it for me. You could potentially automate everything about your reef if you wanted to.

I'm the only one here I think who will recommend it...but check out ReefAngel. If Open Source sounds good to you and you have any programming skill, then this is a great way to go.possibilities are endless and you get a lot included with the basic package. There is also a great wizard utility and the pre-loaded code get you 99% there, so don't be afraid of the programming.The support is outstanding and an active forum community. Good luck whichever route you go.

Is the reef angel controller compatible with Mac computers? Also is there monitoring/controlling capabilities via iOS devices? Thanks

Yes, the arduino IDE used by the ReefAngel runs on the Mac no problem. The iOS apps work great with one exception (setting custom memory variables) which can be done through http links if needed. We're currently waiting to restart the iOS dev since the main developer is MIA.
The portal is also a great method to control and works on Mac, iOS well. I'd use my Mac for uploading if it weren't on another floor so I have a Linux laptop I keep nearby for uploading code. I do most of my dev on the train on my iPad and upload it to the laptop/mac through DropBox.
