When you first started to keep sps what are some of the ones you found to be the best ones to start with, which ones do you steer away from even if you have the experience and a stable established tank?
digis and montis were my first pick. I had porites on my LR while cycling a new tank and while most of it died off, I still had a small colony that was thriving once the tan became established.
never had any difficult SPS, but usually assume the higher price tag comes with greater difficulty of care
Montipora digitata and Montipora hirsuta for branching. Then Montipora capricornis for plating.
After that Seriatopora hystrix is a fast grower too (the pink version, not the ponape).
When it comes to Acropora, I found that once they have encrusted a bit A. formosa grow fast. Acropora turaki (aka "ORA Hawkins blue echinata") grows fast under proper conditions.
