I would say no leathers with sps. Thats all you should really worry

^ This. It's doable, as I have 2 large leathers and many, many mini colonies, but I also have had two randomly RTN with no change in parameters.

The leathers never slime up, but I still think they might be an issue in the future. Mine look great though, so its making it tough to want to remove them. I just use a little more carbon than needed to try to keep them.

Leathers secrete toxins that do bother sps and vice versa. Those two do chemical warfare. There will be some tanks that have both and the sps and leathers might be doing fine, but that is a known issue to happen.
Having carbon in the tank helps to absorb and diminish the stress caused by the toxin exchange, but i avoid those since i know for a fact they fight with each other.
Some reefers that have both experience slower growth of the sps. As always, there are ways to have them together, such as doing more constant WC's and keeping carbon fresh. if you feel in doubt, research the topic and you will find tons of info on this.

Do you think this suggests your water is too "clean" what's your parameters?

Maybe, not sure but that's what I'm thinking. Nitrates 0-1 but I tested after feeding. Phosphates were .01 yesterday and I did a water change this morning. I also have like 15 mangroves and lots of macros ( Ulva, Cheato, Red Glacinaria, Codium and Kelp) Also my skimmer is rated for 300 gallons, change the carbon every 15 days and I run Biopellets. I also doe Probidio Biodigest and Bioptim. Maybe the pellets though, was thinking about removing the reactor to see what happens.

Yeah your water is prob too clean w all that stuff, from what I understand some coral like some nitrates in system. All I got is an ok skimmer in my tank that's all, I just do wc. But when I get more sps colonies I will prob have to add all those things. I'm looking to add some chaeto soon to this tank when I get a underwater led for it.

I have sps acros montis lps acans torch frogspawn blastos and zoas and shrooms,in a 40 breeder.she shrooms multipily like crazy so do most of the zoas, the sps grow decent but the birds nests ones really grow, the acans eat what ever they catch and on water change day i spot feed everything,I have gfo skimmer and fuge with chaeto.. phos usually .02-08 nitrates .02-.05.. the only thing I can say I want to change is some of the acros could be brighter they have good pe but I dont know if its my mh light because a good amount came from led so that could be the difference.. I change 5 gal a week if I feed oyster roe or oyster feast during the week I do a 2 gal waterchange.I dont know if its over kill but thats what I been doing since i had the tank so I will continue because it works.A usefull tip I read on this forum is if you have to use the magfloat to clean the front glass more than every few days its time to change the gfo.. so I really only test the phos and nitrates alk and cal on water change day. So I know if I have to up dosage.I wouldnt say its perfect but everything is open and growing, but I am sure a experienced guy can look at the tank for 5 minutes and give me advice on what to tweek.

your trying to do too much
why or what was the purpose of running bio-pellets ?
if using the bio-pellets, no reason to be dosing other carbon sources (Biodigest and Bioptim) and if running that many mangroives and other macro's they eventually will starve out if they dont have a food source then start to leach stuff back into the tank

I actually was interested in mangroves until i read that they are not even close to being as effective as chaeto in nutriend export. I forgot the article i read this at, but it was a credible reefer with some good data showing in order to have ok effectiveness you would have to have many many mangrove plants. Apparently if im not mistaking, in the same article he suggested chaeto was the best species of all macros(nutrient export). I honestly cannot remember now the source, can try to find it.
