hey...i had the same issue!! nitrates were at 75!! in my 150g when i started my tank (perhaps due to all my LR i used being mostly dead?) i started a small tlf bio pellet reactor and dosed georgia vodka heavily, about 36 ml!! i did a 30% wc weekly. after 1.5 months my nitrates finally went down to 5..and i cut my dosing to. 12ml daily of vodka...i also implemented a new refugium a few weks ago, 30 gal...to help longterm..would love to totally ween of vodka if possible.i normally do 20% monthly.

Could also try cleaning out your skimmer pump, so it will run more efficiently.
Change out your filter socks more frequently.
I dose some bacteria when I carbon dose, have a few different ones that I use to keep the bacterial population diverse. Special Blend, Fritz, and MB7. I dose like 10 or 15 ml for my 80 gallon tank, and 5ml of NoPox.
