What is the deal with SPS? Why are some so fanatical about acropora and the like? Is it the challenge? Is it the beauty? Let me know what you think.

I find that sps corals are so beautiful in color, structure, growth forms that no 2 are alike. They can be the same species, the same coral and are different in any 2 systems. They are abit more challenging depending on what species you decide to keep. If given the proper aquarium conditions they are a very rewarding coral. Trading frags with other reefkeepers is the best. Anyone wanna trade???

Ditto. Softies and LPS are gennerally much easier to keep, where SPS require more attention to detial and water parameters, etc. They are also nicer since there usually aren't as many battles between the corals. If two get too close to each other, just frag that branch off and trade it with another reefer or LFS.
