Hey Guys,
What is the best glue for SPS ? I see some of you have a putty like plat eon the bottom of the SPS ? how do you do that and what is that called, my frags are like laying down iinstead of up like those nice plates.
Thanks Peter
Most reefers use gel super glue or solid bar expoy. What you are describing is the solid bar expoy. Its a 2 part solid (inner layer and outter layer). Once you mix the solid up it becomes hard after few minutes.
I prefer superglue, because it sticks better in my experience. You can pick up both of these at most hardware stores.
I also use the super glue gel as my best method for attaching sps frags. I have LR rubble my LFS lets me have and when new frags get in or I make some up I glue them to the LR pieces. That way I can place them anywhere in the tank they need to be. If they need to be started low I can do that and then when it's time to move them up they aren't attached with the epoxy. Note the epoxy has been known to make skimmers go crazy with micro bubbles. It did in my case and I have read numerous threads about others. HTH...
