I am in the planning stages for a 75g all sps reef and I am getting overwelmed by the choices for lighting. I currently have 2-175 pfo lighting system I removed from a older system. I would like to keep more acros and the advice I get is very mixed, any suggestions from the experts. I am willing to move up to 250's but some advice I get is tht I really dont need them. I purchased that book called Ultimate Marine Aquariums and was stuned by some of the systems that had really spectacular corals but did not use the typical lighting setups. For Len if you read this How can vovices like us learn if you dont show us pics of your tank? :D

Truth is, no one moves on in life if the people around them aren't willing to be cooperative... :(

And about your lighting setup, people with halides will chime in. I don't have them yet.

I'd go with the 250's over the 175's for a 75G tank. I had 2-175's on my old 75G and had to keep acro's in the top half of the tank. The ones on the lower half of the tank didn't grow much at all.

I have a 46 with 2 250's and everything is growing very nicely in all levels of the tank. Love em.

I also would reccomend the 250's. Lots more flexability with them. Besides when the itch hits for that 120 you will already have the lights.

Exactly. My wife came to me the other day and asked if I wanted a new 125 from her work (deeply discounted (of course)). She asked how much it would cost to upgrade lights. Needless to say she was pleased with the answer lol. Unfortunately I don't think I want a 125 lol. I think I just want a 90 cube. Anyway, you will be happy with 250's.
