I have recently noticed a small brown crab with white eyes in one of my smaller acro colonies. He seems to be picking at the ends of 2 branches and they look as though they are losing a little tissue. The colonies polyps have been fully extented with good coloration but I am just wondering if this is a good or bad crab? I am used to the normal white acro crab but havnt seen this before.

If he's picking at the polyps, I'd scrap him. I normally leave them alone unless they're causing actual damage like you've indicated.

Thanks Jim!!

I managed to get him out by chasing him with the end of a paper clip and then grabbing him with tweezers. I am sure he is the culprit and im sure the very small amount of tissue will grow right back. Like I said other than that the colony looks great and has colored up really nice. I ended up putting the crab in fuge.

is there enough food in the tank, algae wise and etc, to feed your
crabs? maybe your rock is so algae free they need to find some
other food source?
