I picked up a couple of frags last weekend and finally got my camera up and running. Its an old crappy cam but hopefully someone can ID these two. They weren't labeled and I got them for a good price. The first one in person is more greenish with purple polyps, its hard to tell in the pic.

I am pretty sure that the first one is an acropora sp. but don't know what kind, and the second one might be a millepora but am sort of new to SPS and not good at IDing yet.
Thanks!

Hey CT, the first one looks like the Acro ORA farms as the German blue polyped Acropora (no species name). It's a really nice piece. I have a frag that is growing well.

The second one is hard to tell. Certain places looks like an A.millepora or A.prostrata, then other places looks like a Montipora digitata, while overall it sort of resembles a Hydnophora sp.

Cool, I got the ORA frag for 29 bucks so I don't think I did too bad. It seems to be getting a little vibrant since I brought it home. I'm going to try and get a better pic of the second one to get a better ID. I cleaned the glass a bit today so I'll see if its a bit better.

Ok got some semi better pics with a cleaner glass. Heres the coral in question a little closer up:

and by comparison my hydnophora frag, so I don't think its a hydno:

and a slightly clearer pic of the ORA frag:

Do you have a pic of your version of this frag for comparison? Will this one color up a bit more? Thanks!

That coral has me stumped. I don't see any apparent terminal polyps which makes me question if it's an Acro. It might be a Montipora. It's definitely not a Hydnophora as you also concluded.

The ORA German Acro doesn't get very colorful. The green will turn into a deeper muted forest green, but the polyps can get brigther bluish purple. When the frag gets bigger, the blue/purple against the green really does stand out. It's not a gaudy SPS, but it is very nice. I like mine a lot. Alas, no photos ;)

I'm going to have to go with Montipora due to the rounded whitish looking growth tips. It appears to me to just have really good polyp extention. If you could take the frag out of the water for a second and cause it to draw in its polyps, it would be a lot easier to tell definitively.
