Need Help w/Kalk Reactor

Hey guys, I'm adding an avast marine kalk reactor to my setup. For those who runs a kalk reactor, what's another alternative for a dosing pump. I dont have the apex dos. I have a aqua lifter laying around. Would I be able to use it to add RO water to the reactor being controlled through my apex? Also what's your apex programming for the kalk reactor/ doser?
