Ok, I hate it when people seLL SPS and I can't buy it SO... am gonna set up the tank I g0t from Jung, a 65G, as an SPS tank... going to the light side :bigeyes2:

I'd appreciate a shopping list... so far, I have a drilled 65G, with plumbing, a nice skimmer which Jung knows about coz I dont, and I guess I will need lights, a reactor, some monitoring equipment and what not.

My budget is $4,000 to set it up.

All professional help will be appreciated... :thanks: :smokin:

What kind of a skimmer are you going to be using on the 65? Try to get the best skimmer possible. Dont look at Dr. Fosters that much. For misc. items, check out petsolutions.com. For lighting, I would def. go with 2 250 watters (some ppl might disagree and say 2 400's but instead of that just go dual ended). All I know is that you are going to need a shitload of flow in there, Start thinking about investing in those Tunze pumps with a controller, if you are giong to have a 4,000 dollar budget.

with that budget you can move to a larger tank to let your sps grow nice and big, You can pick up a used tank for almost nothing :sgrin:

figure:

400 for 2x250 electronic 10k Mh's
800 for 2x tunze kit with controller.
250 for ph/orp controller
400 for ca reactor, tank, and solenoid
300 for ro/di and auto top off system
200 test kits
60 refractometer
600-700 chiller (if needed)

that leaves 900 for a larger tank and stand :) and some new coral to fill it up.

the equipment cost will be almost the same for a 65 vs. a 120.

come join the 120 and up club !

Yeah, get a bigger tank for your budget. 120G will be awsome. Can't wait to see the new tank. Oh, make sure you create a tank log on tank thread. It's so much fun to watch people creating their tank from the start. Maybe someday I'll start big tank like you. Goodluck.

Tru!!!!! Ink I thought you were on a budget. $4000 is like all the money I've ever held in my entire life!!!!! Upgrade if room permits, that would be one niiiceeeee 120g. One thing everyone hasnt mention is all the frags your gonna have to get to fill it up ;). I got a 65g and love the thing(cause its all I can have)....
