I have all kinds of diffrent sps's in my tank and they all seem to be doing ok I think they need more light which I am working on sould have LED's in a week or 2. But I got this sps from a MR and he kept it on the bottom of his tank and it was nice and yellow and he had MH lights, so I have 4 bulb T5 at 39 watts per bulb so I put the frag at about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way to the top of the tank. At first polpys open real well nice yellow color now I dont know if its turning neon green or its bleeching.. the first pic is of it on the rock in my tank and picture isnt that good. The second picture is of it on my sand bed I put it there today, but you could see real well the yellow it use to be and what it is changing to... Please let me know if Im bleeching it with being to close to the light... Thanks

The tank size is 76 gal 1/2 circle.. Yes I do dose with the brightwell code a and b and I do the brightwell kalk+2 in my fresh water return. I did notice my calcium was low but my test kit was also old so I dont know if it was right but it read 380. But being that # I would think my other sps's would show some kind of stress. I also do mag and iodine drops once a week.. On the coral I had polyp extention when I first got it and it setteled in.. Then I also looked at it before I moved it to the sand it looked like it has some extention but not like it did before.. I alway have a problem with holding my PH at 8.3 or so but my cal is always high.. My alk is usually higher also like 11 or 12 but I tested it saterday and it read 8.2 or so.. I like this frag and I dont want to lose it..

keep it mid level, also if you have a problem with the ph, you should change the salt one key thing in the fact is that the salt and the ph goes hand in hand. My salt is 1.25 and my ph is 8.4 so it is good to keep a eye on the salt.

did you ever do a iodine test and why are you doing a iodine dose in the tank.

It might have to get used to the light. from what I can think of

Its been with me for about 2 weeks now and it was that nice dark yellow you see on the back side of it.. I dose the iodine in the tank same place I feed the fish, I only do 3 drops a week. The ph problem I think I have had as long as I had the tank running, I have a great over rated for my tank skimmer thinking that would help with the air and bring up the ph but no suck luck. Only thing I would think might help me out a little with the ph is take the glass off the top but then I would have worry about fish jumping out so I dont know.. I use reef crystal salt I do water changes every second week of 20 gals. But for the coral I had it mid way to 3/4 I thought it was doing good but this is what I get so I just have to watch it and hope I dont lose it or bleech it... Its only the ones I like it happens too not the ones that grow into things I dont want...lol Right now due to my 4 bulb 36" t5 I cant keep dark blues alive or tri colors Im guessing its the lights but once wingo gets me my new LED's and I get everything in the tank use to them I am going to try again...

Well I went out and bought a new salifert cal test kit and it read 330 or so.. So I added some cal into the sump today. so we will see what it tests tomarrow.. I also made some new fresh water with some new kawl mix. so now it probably be to high now.. LOL What kind of salt do you use? Im thinking of going to the evs but it has 4 parts to mix, to many things for me to mess up!!! So I dont know yet... I might have over loaded my tank with corals and Im not use to running the cal down so low... Ill let you know how it looks the next few days....

it looks like it is bleaching.. i would do an iodine dip and then place it in the middle of the tank... it might be getting shocked from the light and maybe you didnt acclimate it well... it really doesnt look like there is much to do.

also test everything and make sure it is in the right range
