Hello , I just purchased a deep water acro from on of the lfs . It was under 5 400w mogul base bulbs, but there not always on all at once. ther seemed to be alot of flow in the tank. I brought it home and placed it in my 180 with 3 250 watt moguls . I have an mp 40es for flow , in addition to that I have 2 koralia 4s and a pan world 200 for a return pump which is hooked up to a manifold in the tank to disperse the flow. The One week later it appears that there is some bleaching starting on the one branch. I am not good with the camera so pics would tank for ever. Any ideas or suggestions would help me alot. '
Thanks Chuck & Anna maria

Is it from the tips? It may be growth and not bleaching. Is there still polyp extension from that branch at the tip?best to check after lights out.

Do you have other acros? What is your alk & pH at?

Alk is 12 and ph in tank is between 8.05 and 8.18. I have a few other sps they seem ok there is some polyp extension but not as much as when we got it home. I forgot to mention i put it in the top 3rd of the the tank to give it as much light as possible and directed the flow of the manifold toward it.

every sps is different in every tank and lights but it might take a while to get use to everything new in your tank.. I had a sps that didnt look like it was doing anything until it in crusted on to the rock and I left it alone and now its shooting new branches all over but the frag that I got is still doing nothing... but low is a good place to start.. good luck.

Ok thanks for the suggestions guys , its been 3 days since I moved it lower in the tank and although you never know , it does not llok like its gotten any worse. It even appears the poylps on the particular branch that was in question are extending, or atleast starting to. It also seems as though the color may be coming back further toward the base of the branch. Im very hopeful and very greatful for the help.
