question for all the sps growers with controller unit

ok if you have an established acropora invested tank with great results i need to pick your brain. do you have a controller unit and if so what kind? and what do you control with it? ph,salinity,calcium,temp,lighting ,pumps ,what do you use it for mainly I need help with the sales pitch to the wife..and myself...last question which model is best and why?

The only thing I control is my lights and my zoe reactor thats it . Know for growth and color i use the zoevita method That consists of 5 parts . 1 is the zoe reactor, 2 is the zoelights, 3 zoebak ,4 zoefoods 2 ,5 zoe start2
This help keep your tank at N/S/W conditions . That leds to a low nutrient system . Thats what sps like .And at the same time with additional additives like zoe spong power and zoe coralvita the corlas well be well feed all the time. I do not control any thing I turn on the lights the only thing I have is auto top off. that is it. I dose by hand and test all the time well once a week, I pay very careful watch to all my sps and all the coral period.

I do bleive how ever that for sps flow is a must no question about that, I think that acros love the flow and you want to keep the wast off of them because it burns the skin of the acros. Also hight up to the light is the best.

I have an Apex controller and could not live without it. It does everything in my tank as far as monitor/control temp, ph, ATO, lights, pumps, powerheads, fans.

I dose Ca manually right now....very easy for me....and I test Ca and Mg once a week to make sure they are good.

I use a aqua controller 3 it's pretty good I like the idea of have 2 ph probes and being able to controller controllables from anywhere in the world through the internet.. I control my calcium reactor, lights, heater,and exhaust fans in hood and over sump. 12+ years in the hobby and I say all controllers have problems and will piss you off at some point, so monitor your monitor and you'll be fine.. Anyone who says their controller is perfect hasn't been in the hobby that long and hasn't had their controller that long,,lol..

We also have an Apex it is our first controller and I learn something new about what it can do almost every day . It controls our lights our fan , soon our chiller . Also our Geo calcium reator . We test about every or every other day. we dose brightwell a&b plus the same Magnesion. as needed.

2 heaters
in emergency heat it shuts down lights while chiller is on
it txts me in extreme temp, pH levels, ORP levels
txts me at reg intevals tank status temp, pH, ORP

Thanks Harry!!!

That is a huge plus for me with the Apex controller. To be able to get emails with PH is high/low, Temp is high/low, Power failed and restored.
Not to mention the web access and apps for your phone to control the Apex also. It saved me already one time while I was on vacation...worth every penny.
