last week the power went out for a good minute, which was enough to seize my pump feeding my chiller, which i didnt realize till the next morning and stuck my hand in the tank and realized it was way to warm, 89 to be exact, nothing looked bad at the time, and i fixed the pump asap, but its been a week now and im starting to see my sps go one after the other, and they were doing fine before the temp swing, a huge algae outbreak had also occurred after the temp swing, i did a 20 percent water change the day i fixed the pump and another one 4 days later, but i still see my sps going down hill, not sure if what happened enduced RTN? anyone with any ideas?

Your acros rtn'n are probably due to the stress of the temp. Your parameters are probably good acros are wierd not like Lps or softies were they close and try to hold in the good water till everything clears up. Sps will show the signs of stress weeks later that is why it is good to keep a log of all accidents and water changes to combat the problems or issues

guess im not doomed, looks like it was just some stressed out sps from the big temp swing, i cut whatever i needed to cut and now the sps look like they are getting back to normal, besides the cuts i needed to take care off, i think if i didnt cut the die off that fast i could have lost some colonies, did some water changes and increased the mag to try and get rid of all the algae that developed from the temp swing too.

when u have die off on sps are u supposed to cut it off?

depends really, on what type of die off your experiencing. it its very slow die off sometimes it will grow over, but if its fast, meaning like almost overnight, then its def. worth fragging a piece just in case the colony doesnt make it, and if it does, then you have have a new frag .
