SPS growth under LEDS

I have changed out 2 of the 3 400W MH to LEDS. The SPS are under the LEDS while the frag rack is under the only MH left.

Dates are stamped on the photos. If you save each image individually and open them one by one, they superpose onto the other. You will be able to appreciate the growth in merely 4 weeks.

And yes the green slimmer is tipping over.

The Last pic is with the deeper blue look.

i wouldnt put it as the led caused the growth, one of the bigger mis-conceptions in my opinion, not that i dont thing it is a factor. but great water quality, and stability play as big if not a bigger part in it, so when ya switching the rest to maxspect

Growth is as good if not better than the MH.

Do you have growth pics from when they were under the halides? The only way to really tell if the LEDs are any different is to have 2 same size frags mounted at the same time in the same system under the two different lights and then compare.

LEDs are fing amazing I wish I had 3000 to buy a nice ones
They make all the colors pop out
I saw a guy on here named manny s tank had a diy led with dimmers and it was amazing Hopefully by next Christmas they will be afordable

No I don't. But take my words for it, they are growing a lot better compared to my 400W radium.

The tank is 400g used to have 3 400W radium/helios. Now all leds, in the middle, DIY with 1:1 CW/RB total of 120 leds with dimmable drivers, dimmed by the aquasurf module (yes, it works). I am running that at 40% CW max for a few hours and 100% blue only a few hours in mid day. Most of the time, it is 20-30% CW and 50% RB. On the sides is the maxspect G2-160W-cree and G2-110W that I bought from the GB.

After I fragged the green slimmer last week, I wasn't able to get it stay the way I wanted it to. So I moved it up on the green cap. My PBT which had been forced into retreat by the sohal tang in the last two years decided he wanted to be king of the tank again. He reclaimed his throne and started to bully the other fish including the sohal. Now, who's the sissy. Circle of Life. :sgrin:
