The center of the tank has the best growth I think but it is hard to attribute the growth solely to the light b/c the SPS are situated higher in that part of the tank and the type of SPS in that section are different than the others. The end that is close to the webcam has the maxspect 160W with crees. The center of the tank has the DIY setup and the far end which doesn't have a lot of SPS has the 110W maxspect.

GreaT! This is first tank i see with over a year running LEDs on SPS tank...
How would you compare color wise LEds vs 400w. I use 400w Radiums and been using them forewer with gret results, so i am really affraid of this big move:)

When the tank was under MH, neither the color nor the growth was as good as it is now. But be honest, the tank was having its own problems back then when I was probably overdosing the DIY 2 part solution and less than par scheduled maintainence. I think the parameters have improved among other things and that's why the tank is doing better now. The purple nana you see has grown quite a bit and regained its color if you compare the recent pics with the ones last year.

How would you consider light spread? some people complain , that corners dont get light . most recomend narrow tanks, and my tank is 32' . i gues it also depending on light fixure as well.

I guess it depends on how many leds you want to pack over the tank and how much corals you have in there. The dimension of my tank is 72"X36"X36". The tank is deep and I don't have optics on the leds, but most of the SPS are at least half way up the bottom. I don't have corals from wall to wall like others so I am not too concerns about the "dark" spots near the corners of the tank. The good thing about DIY is that you can always fabricate to fit your own application. If I want more light near the corners, I can add another module but that kind of destroy the purpose of trying to save electricity.

what is your total watts today?

On one end is a Maxspect 160W but I only run it at full power 3 hr/day. The other end Maxspect 110W. The DIY middle section has 5 banks of 24 leds total 120 leds and 360W if run at full power which I never do. I run the white at 50% max for 3 hours and the rest of the day at 25%. The blue I do 100% for 3 hours and 50% the rest.

Pic from today. I had to frag the red table acro. I think it wasn't getting enough light or flow. We'll see how it goes. Upside is that you can see the purple nana a lot better now.
