I got this guy as a Tyree ponape birdsnest but given the color and growth pattern I seriously dont think that it is a ponape, any ideas what it might be? In a way I like it much more than a standard ponape.

so you are saying that the one i have is the same as this one?
FYI Tyree tends to get his corals from reefers tanks,, at 3Am while they sleep for the most part.

the one you have looks like that a cause its small and b cause there probably isnt alot of flow on it which makes the branches grow more spindly and thinner but it is ponape about 60% of his stuff is maricultered and wild from years ago and the newer stuff is all home grown by people all over the us and since there "new" and rare when he buys them that means he is for the most fart getting first gen stuff with the parent colony usually bought at a lfs or online somewhere fresh from the ocean so until his frags are colonized and cut and grown out there all still wild technically to truly be tank raised or home grown it needs to be a second or third gen colony that is fraged so there is no wild flesh on the whole colony ( i say second or third depending on how it was fraged and grown or where on the colony the new frag was cut from)
