I have a friend that has a few sps( monti cap, and purple nana) frags that are browning in his tank.. phosphates are out the roof.. he is willing to give them to me but im not sure if a sps will color back up if water condition is improved.is it worth me taking them or will they jus die after they start browning. any info will be appreciated

if your water quality is good then they will color back up. SPS can stay brown and still live for a long time, it wont happen over night but you will notice a sure difference in a few weeks if your water quality is good. again good being a relative term. low phosphates, low nitrates, good skimmer, frequent water changes, necessary trace elements etc.
