Whenever I use the traditional vertical sump dividers I get a waterfall sound.
I saw your return section looked like it would run shallow so it would prevent a backflow flood in a power outage and that would give two waterfalls.

Just wondering.
Any time you want the macro let me know.

1 might be fire bristleworms if they are red i can't really tell from the pic
and everything else jaftica said i agree with. lol. aptasia x works for me with the aptasia. might even work on the mojano.

A bit of advice for you re: aptasia & mojano

Do not let them grow ! if you see even the smallest one - KILL IT !! don't wait to get it later, as they can easily take over a tank........

I noticed one(Aptasia) the other day and said to myself when I get home from work I will have to shoot him and when I got home it was gone?
I have 10 turbo snails,2 emerald crabs ,1 lawn mower Blenny and 2 clowns any chance something could have ate it?

120 gal reef ready build


Hi everyone my name is Mike and I am a Reef virgin well other than for the last 6 months have been lurking and reading everything I can get my hands on lol.

Ill try to make my story quick. My first job was in a aquarium store and ever since I was 16 years old I have always dreamed about having a salt water tank.
Well 28 years later I am finally making that happen.

My next door neighbor owns a LFS and offered me a sweet deal on a used 65 gal setup that someone was upgrading to a 120 ,which I proposed to my wife with what I felt was the only possible location on a wall in our 1/2 finished basement.


Being the coolest wife there is(with an ulterior motive) Said go BIG or go home.
?You can have any size tank you want if you just refinish the other room in the basement
And put it in there?

Not sure if she under estimated my commitment or not but so it began.

Photos of the room being ripped out,electric ,framing,sheetrock,spackle,paint,custom tank stand sized for a 180gal.... you know just incase in the future I want to upgrade and my DIY 40 breeder sump/refugium

Thank you that container I got brand new from a guy I use to work with, sorry but I have no idea were he got it from it was left over from a maintanence job they did not use and it happened to be food grad and I was in the right place at the right time
It is 7 gallons.
