Steve's Coast to Coast 90 Rimless Build

Last week I was up at Coast to Coast Aquariums to finalize the plans for my next build. Next week I should be getting some pictures of the completed tank, but won't be able to pick it up till the end of April due to the silicone needing time to cure. The tank specs are:

-48"x24"x18"
-1/2" glass polished and beveled
-Starphire front pane
-Black Silicone
-Black painted back
-Left hand overflow with stand pipes and lockline return
-1" drain and 3/4" return

Some other details on the tank build:
-Custom 3/8" Glass 40"x18"x12" Sump. 4" Filter sock holder and 18"x18"x12" frag grow out area.
-Vertex Alpha 170 Skimmer
-Reef Dynamics 135 Gallon Bio-Pellet Reactor plumbed to skimmer inlet
-Tunze Osmolator ATO
-Apex Lite Controller
-Finnex 300w Titanium Heater
-2 BRS Dosing pumps
-2 Vortech MP40W
-Eheim Return pump
-50lbs of BRS dry rock

Still up in the air on lighting, I know I want to go with LEDs but I don't know if I want to get a full spectrum light like the Vega or Radion. I currently have a Biocube with 6 Cool White Cree XT-E and 18 Royal Blue Cree XP-G LEDs over it. I am getting good growth and color except in my blues and greens. Not as intense as it was in my previous T5 lit tanks. I have plenty of time to decide though.

As soon as I get pictures of the tank from C2C I'll post them up. I also have a local glass company cutting, polishing, and beveling the glass for my sump so I'll post pictures from when I assemble that.

Coincidentally, I ran the same skimmer until I swapped to a Lifereef sump and the AC170 doesn't fit anymore. Eheim return pump and 2 MP40s. Black background...Black silicone...1" drain and 3/4" return...1/2" Starphire...You're going to have rock and water in the tank like me... aaaand we're both Steve's! That's wild... /cue twilight zone music :lol2:

Here is an updated shot of the tank. The back isn't painted yet and then overflow is not installed. My pickup date is April 17th, sooner then what they said.

I sent the dimensions of my glass for the sump to my local glass cutter. They will also be polishing and beveling the edges. Then I will be assembling it with black silicone to match the tank.

Nice tank! Tanks look so nice when empty, I think I'm gonna start a new tank and just keep it empty...

Yea, they do look nice, and a lot bigger empty. It's gonna shrink when I stock it.

Just a small update, over the weekend I took advantage of the Easter sales and ordered some stuff and picked up two new frags

Should be here this week:

500w Finnex titanium heater
Apex lite
2 BRS 1.1ml/min dosing pumps
2 1 Gallon space saver jugs
3 4" filter socks

I also picked up a 4" frag of Blue Tort and a 2" frag of Red Planet from a local reefer.

Just got home from Coast to Coast with the tank. Couldn't e happier, Chris and Pat are great to deal with and are very professional. Here's a pic, excuse the mess, still setting up my tools.

Awesome... gotta love your name label on the tank. Unless you run bare bottom, then it'll look odd till coraline covers it.
