They are now spread out. Bit of rescaping last night. I'm pretty happy with the results. Nitrates are getting better with the biopellets but still higher than what I want. I started vinegar two weeks ago.
Added a webcam for the sump. Here's a quick tour. Upgraded the skimmer too. Waiting for the swabbie to come back installed on the new lid. Can't wait to put that back on. Anyway enjoy
The skimmer is a beast. I need the swabbie to help keep the lid down
Nice skimmer! How do you like the swabbie? I have to clean my skimmer every week. Not because I want to, but because gunk builds up around the neck and I'm sure it doesn't skim as well anymore.
How often do you empty the skimmer or clean the cup with the swabbie?
And the sump pics looks sharp. What kind of camera are you using?
The swabbie is great. I would usually clean it out once a month. It should have been done more often because when the lid gets dirty I think the skimmer suffers. I think though that the eshopps skimmer was not so up to the task, this thing has been a beast so far, so we'll have to see the results when it's back on.
The camera is a D-Link DCS-5009L I bought it on Amazon from their clearance department cause it had no box so I got $10 off. I already had a DCS-930L for the tank so this is nice as I can view them both in the MyDlink app.
Ok, everything is off the frag rack and mounted! I bought a tiger pistol shrimp and he has paired up nicely with my pink spotted watchman goby. I have a good view of their burrow from my sumpcam too! The birdsnests are really taking off.
The back glass? I scraped it once a few months ago and I touch it up occasionally, but Coraline stopped really building up, though I think there's a few spots forming though. I am thinking of painting the back lately.
