I will take some for you this afternoon while the lights are on and see if I can't get them up this weekend. I also added a new neon orange m. digi frag a few weeks ago... that immediately got knocked over by one of my hermits... so I ended up with three of them :)

Hey Jolie, just wondering if you had any pics with the moonlight on. I am getting ready to set up another tank, and was kicking around picking one up. Only problem is, I'm going with pendants, so it will be tricky to fit one in somewhere.

Thanks,
HD

I can't get the pics of the tank to come out with the moonlight. I can tell you though, that for my tank, I wish that I'd bought two of them and put them on either end of the tank, angling toward the center.

The pinpoint led is very bright, and lights up the whole center of the tank, but that leaves the left and right sides of the tank in relative darkness. Still, it's a very neat effect and does allow for nightviewing of the critters.

I also have pendants. I mounted mine in the center of the canopy in between the two.

Right, but you have a canopy in which to mount it. I'm using the pendants as pendants hanging from the ceiling. Maybe I'll hold off on the moonlight until the day I should decide to build a canopy. Thanks, Jolie!

Ah ha... now I get it.

You might check the DIY forum and see if anyone in there has some ideas for you on how to mount a moonlight over your tank without a canopy.

You could try building a decorative u-shaped support for it that balances it between your lights. Just use some 1" pine and get some of those little felt dots at Michael's to keep the wood from damaging the tank. Paint it to match decor. Mount moonlight to support thinger... on you go!

Good luck!

That's a good idea, Jolie. I think I saw a moonlight that comes with a clip on flexible arm that might work, too. Thanks for the tip!

And the crocea.. the rusty stuff is actually on the glass, and not on the sand as it appears in the image.

Unconfirmed id on this one. Hitchhikers that came in on the LR, appears to be blastomussa merletti?

Not the best of my shots so far, but another hitch-hiker coral. Previously identified as an encrusting porites. I was told initially that this coral would not live long term. Since it was introduced, it has quadrupled in size and keeps growing.
