This is my Oceanic 42 Hex. The tank has been set up since May 2003. As you can see the tank was started with mostly frags as I want to watch my tank grow. The lighting is supplied by one 175 watt 10,000k XM mh bulb and 2 Actinic 32 watt PC's.

Outstanding! - Awesome growth! - I love it when you can see the obvious progression like you have here.

What are your photoperiods on those lights?

I keep the actinicts on for 12 hours (9am - 9pm). The MH on for 10 hours (10am - 8pm). And a blue rope light on at night for moonlight / viewing pleasure :O)

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments. I just love when I read notes like there but the darnest thing happens. When I try to walk out of the room my head keeps getting stuck in the doorframes. LOL

I am to tired today to take close ups. I will try to do so tomorrow. plus the halide cuts off in about 2 minutes.

GratefulDiver:

175 w 10,000k XM and two 32 w PC Actinics inside a CSL 24"hood The halide is 7.5" above the water and the PC's are 10" above the water.

Wow! What a gorgeous tank...love the aquascaping you've done.

Fishies look happy too....but is there enough room for the tang in there? I've not seen a 42 in this shape before...

Thanks for the compliments.... For now there is room for the tang. I also have a 120 that is now planted that will some day become my reef tank.....

I think you can get the tank top light and stand for 250.00 or something like that... i would suggest getting it drilled though.
