As I stated in the first post, the initial results were disasterous. The tank was first set up in oct 2002 and 90% of all fish losses were in the first six months. That original setup in no way reflects the very healthy and thriving setup I have today. For example, here is a picture of the tank, before several changes but after the initial addition of macro algaes. I cropped out the display area. The point is the fuzzy thing is the yellow tang. Picture was taken 30 JUL 2003. The tang is still there and picking things I don't want him picking on. Dispite emptying the water out, removing 1/2 the sand bed, adding the in tank refugium, accidently dumping 1/2 the water in the living room, mixing up new water, and resetting up the tank. (Had a bad move).

Also, this tank has only seen three clownfish. I lost one during the first month month of operation. No other clownfish have been in the tank. Here is a picture of the nemos taken 4 oct 2003 and posted to a thread on 8 Feb 2004. The anemone in high hitrate water and lower lighting did die after about 8 months or so. With 0.0 nitrAtes and higher lighting hopefully the replacement anemone will last longer. You can check the clowns yourself to see if they are the same. (they are just older)
