First Reef tank... I come from having an african cichlid setup. After alot of reading and good advice from this forum..... this is it so far!!
It's been up for about 3 months.. Pics are some old some new... So far so good
Obviously still a newbie to reef so any comments or words of advice welcome...

- 46 gal. Bow front
- Sump under tank
- DelTec MC500 Skimmer in the sump
- 1 Aquaclear 50 powerhead
- 2 Aquaclear 30 powerheads
- Compact lighting
- 150w heater in sump
- 85 lbs Live Rock – 45 Tonga, 20 Kaelini Tonga, 20 Marshall
- 40 lbs Live sand
Fish
- 1 Percula Clownfish
- 1 Coral Beauty
- 1 Goby
Coral
- 1 Green Star polyp coral
- 1 Frogspawn green
- 1 Candy Coral
- 1 Sun Polyp
- 1 Leather
- 1 Orange Zoa plus some
Inverts
- 1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
- 1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp
- 10 Blue leg hermits
- 5 Red leg hermits
- 3 Bumble bee snails
- 2 Mexican turbo snails
- 3 Black turbo snails
- 5 Astraea snails
- 1 star
So far tests have been perfect without any major problems except for a bit of brown algae. I have a good clean up crew working away. The tank cycled great with LR and live sand. I’ve only been using RO water from a Kent Hi-s 35 filter and I top off ever couple of days in my sump.
