Hey all,

Well first post hi everyone.

I usually hang out on an Australian site very similar to reefs.org but have joined here to learn how things are done in different in other parts of the world.

Well onto my tank.

Current Specifications

System Type:Mixed Reef

Strike up Date: Oct 07

Display Tank: 3x2x2.5

Display Lighting:400W Lowbay MH with reflector

Sump: 2x18inchesx14inches

Support systems:

System Water: Natural salt water

Display Water circulation: 18000l/ph 2xSeio 6000 + 2xSeio 2000

Return Pump:Eheim 3500l/ph.

Skimmer: We all got one do you?

Evaporation Top Up:Auto top-up


Chemical Support:

Calcium Addition: Reef Octopus CR-70 Dual Chamber

Alkalinity Addition: Drip Kalk as well

Other Chemical Maintenance: All the other tested for and added

Current Water Chemistry:
Nitrates:0
Phosphates:0 Run FBF Rowaphose and matrix carbon
Alkalinity: 9DKh
Calcium: 440ppm
Salinity / Specific Gravity:1.026

It all started for me in October 07 when I was given the opportunity to set up a marine tank something I have wished to do for a long time.

I chose a 3x2x2.5 set-up with a corner 1/2 weir and durso siphon combo and proceeded to build the stand and hood and this is what we ended up with.

Added a RO DNW 150 Skimmer

And a RO CR-70 Dual chamber Calcium Reactor (well this months project)

I was very fortunate to come into the hobby when others where closing their tanks down and benefited greatly from them 100 kg of cured live rock was purchased from another reefer for very little charge.

Cheers the elegance is pretty old as well 6 years I believe.

Since we have increased the lighting from 250W to 400W it isn't opening as much but it still is very healthy.

Aussie eh? So do you....yknow...."borrow" anything from the reef. lol. Depending on this next election I may come and be your neighbor :lol:
