It's in our main room. A bit noisy to be honest, which is the skimmer's fault. There is a relatively simple fix, but I've never got round to doing it.
My wife's actually pretty patient with the tank. She loves looking at it and is more observant than I am, often spotting something interesting/an emerging problem before I do. She's not particularly keen on how much it costs and prefers to spend money on fish, not coral so much. I'm very lucky in that respect. I'm helped by the fact that one of my fish keeping friends (in fact my only fish keeping friend here) has more tanks and consults less with his wife when he buys stuff, so I look a little bit better in comparison. :wink:

Looking great Tom! I am super jealous of that big pink softie (no jokes Andy). The Mycedium is also very very nice.
CJ, the Litophyton photo you posted is now in one of my tanks--not the same species, but that exact specimen. It is a bit more grey in person, but I am still waiting for it to recover from shipping a bit and fully open. I also have it under 6500K lights.

Trouble is, the tank is really depressing me now, thanks to the invincible hydroids. I'm on the verge of taking out all the affected rock and "cooking" it for a couple of months. Now I understand why people don't get rock straight from the ocean, full of "lovely" biodiversity. :x
The pink softie is still looking great though... 8)

Only just - I've given away almost all of the corals to a good friend, who's also agreed to take the fish. A colleague at work will get the tank (free, they sell for peanuts second hand here) and I'll keep all the kit. I wanted to get started on breaking it down in good time before we leave back for the UK in the summer.
