I had a little bit of a hair algae problem in my 38G. Picked up a small one spot fox face rabbit-fish a few weeks ago. Almost all algae is gone now. I think it will be stripped clean in a month. Fox faces are the best algae eaters out there.

How do you like the skimmer you have?

I like it. It looks like it pulls out a good bit of junk. When I was feeding heavy it stayed working. Now that I cut way back to deal with the algae it sill pulls out quite a bit of stuff.

There really is no magic when it comes to skimmers. So I do not see where spending lots on money on them makes any since. Most of them are about the same size and shape and run similar pumps in a rating class.

I was debating getting a new one but I repaired my old one that is probably a bit of overkill but it saves me a couple hundred bucks. It worked great on my old 90G so it is probably pretty heavy for a 60 with fewer fish.

I am sure it will be fine. Having the larger skimmer will give you a little cushion. Personally I like having an oversized skimmer.

I caved today. I had planned for this tank to have no monties at all. A while back I got a free M setosa. Today I got three free m caps and a free related playing coral. Nothing fancy. I think I am done stockig with SPS now. Maybe. Few more LPS if the right thing come along. I do want a plate coral but am waiting to run across something cool.

A few pics at 6 months since first coral. The corals are the ones that were first ones in the tank so you can see what kind of growth I am getting.

Thanks Randy. I am happy with how things are going. Growth has been picking up. I actually have to frag the slimmer, it is getting ready to grow into the sunset millie. For some reason they decided to grow towards each other.

Looks great! I don't know why I am having such issues taking photos of the tank. I used to be really good at it. Not sure if it is the LED's or what, but I cannot get the pictures to do anything but come out Blue flooded.

Sorry it took a while to get back. It took me a while to get pictures that were not over blue.

all my photos are a bit washed out- so far best pics are with my phone, but my Pop gave me his point n shoot, it has more functions- I need to start messing around with it and see if I can take better shots with it...or break down and get an entry level REAL camera...

if you start fragging, and are willing, I'd gladly pay you for frags and shipping...my lfs, while they gret great stuff, in, the more unusual stuff is normally scooped up before I can get there, as he gets his shipments in on Thurdsay, and its all gone even before I get off on Friday...its a bit of a drive and its not one my wife wants to make right after work, so I get Saturday pickings. Sometimes decent pieces, but then, some of those are pricey too.

Sure no problem. Once I start clipping things I will hook you up. Not sure how long it will be. I started with all frags so it will be a little while before they need clipping.

Here is the 9 month installment. Not the best pic in the world.

and one close up. If you really look you can see all the buds on the GARF bonsai. In three months it should be looking good.
