You better have your electric bill fwded to your office because your wife will probably castrate you if she sees it lol. You are going to need some serious lighting that sucker is what like 3 feet deep? What were you thinking 400w halides? I would think probably 4 pendants?

If u can't find it from a member any cheaper Felix from aloha tropics sold me some real nice lr with tons of holes for $ 2.50 a lb the great part about buying from him is he delivers right to ur door and can also get u anything else u might need

how did I miss this tread...LOL...sorry about the losses. I would make it a local species tank and use the local water too.....no MHs, no chiller and all that extra equipment...just a big skimmmer....collect all the tropicals that are in the area now.

Good news i found the cod grouper a new home at pets warehouse
thanks to brad and andy
hope he enjoys that 1000+gal tank with the shark and eel

bad news already thinking reef for the 600gal and boy i will be broke the next 4 months.lol

going to start with a retro T5 lights but not sure if the par reading are good an a 36'' height tank

Your par readings will be fine for corals if you properly place light hungry species towards the top 24" of the tank. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. There are some incredible t5 lighting systems out there that put out an incredible amount of light with the flexability of various spectrums as well....:splitspin
