Oceanic Biocube 14 Setup

Just did a tank transfer to my new Oceanic Biocube. So far the tank is awesome...

First pictures of my aquascape, I think this is my final answer, though I would like to fill in the gap in the center of the tank. Hopefully the featherduster will take care of that.

I took out the bioballs and added a bag of carbon and some chaeto on top of it (pictures of this tomorrow, camera is out of batteries).

I appreciate any advice on aquascaping or tips from other people who have biocubes!

I think you did a good job maximizing use of the space. I'm assuming your biocube has stock PC lights?

I do think that putting a focal point in the middle of the "O" would be a good idea, a little off center. Your scape is a little too symetrical right now, but it'll improve when it fills in with corals. A duncan or something placed off center down there would look neat. I do think that turbo snail (bulldozer) is potential trouble in a small tank.

Is that a green frogspawn on the upper right?

Thanks, I appreciate this feedback. They are stock PC lights an upgrade from my marineland 8w T5. Once things get settled I am thinking of throwing something like a duncan in the center or possibly moving that frogpawn.

And yes it is a frogspawn, and during the tank upgrade, out of all the corals that one handled the move the best. The GSP is still hiding though...

You want to know the secret to landscaping the reef . . . nothing. During the setup of my 14gal cube I dumped all my rocks in to scape it and decided the "dumped" rocks looked more natural than I could ever replicate.

Had some diatom/dinoflagellate problems as you may see, once things I got the koralia nano in, and cut back on lighting the situation is under control.

We Dont all get it i never had it, I broke down my 50 breeder and went to a 20 and nothing and it been running 6 weeks. All im running is T5HO's a Skimmer and a Pho's reactor. No sump

Been wondering why my zoanthids started to die off. I think this was actually due to a saltwater concentration drop!

I have gotten lazy on checking. I always monitor the new water change for SG, but never really check the tank. Perhaps I was sleepwalking and added RODI water one day...

I fixed the SG today, hopefully the zoas start making a comeback!

Nanotuners PC-R ! ! !

Nanotuners PC-R INSTALLED !

Sorry about the blurry pictures, I was more excited about changing the bulbs than focusing on the shot. Also, the lights were just turned on, so the corals are still sleeping. But you get the idea !

This is with stock coralife, and then the replacement of 2 nanotuners PC-R Bulbs. One 50/50 and one Dual Actinic 24watt. Guess which one is which.
