some of these tanks are crazy, I am in the middle of up grading the sump light and re doing the rock over so it is a major over haul or coral and then such.
I was bored so I decided to take out the under water camra one more time before the changes are made to the light, I am swapping out the light I have now for the ati sunpower mod.
so heres a few questions i got.. ive never done a tank this small.. the smallest fishtank (fresh or salt) ive ever done is 92g, but my smallest salt was 120.... so going down to a 40 is a new teritory for me.... so here we go..
im doing an sps dominant tank
1. how much flow do you guys think? im thinking abt 2,000gph total flow between the fuge return ant the hydors..
2. Do you think this is good? im using another 40g as a sump/dsb with chaeto split into 2 chambers..first chamber will have mt filter sock for the drain and my skimmer
3. lighting? i was thinking a single 250w mh pheonix double ended 14,000k
4. LR.. i was gonna use abt 25-30 lbs in the display and maybe 20-30 in the fuge.. good?
5. i will be putting my 2 picassos, 3 green chomis and my snowflake in there.. ok? the snowflake will be transfered to the 92g when its ready or should i just put it in the fuge so i can catch it?
6. i have a bag of fesh pink figi 20 lbs.. i was gonna mix it 50/50 with my sand from the established system and all my LR is in the running system now.. How much of a cycle do you think i will see in this tank? if any at all? i personally dont think i will see any. BTW, the DSB in the fuge is not gonna be disturbed and coming right off the 220g system
any other thoughts or advice you guys have.. please throw it out there..
what size skimmer do you recomend? i was thinking of using the one off my 220 until i get a smaller one but will it be overkill?
I have 65 pounds of rock in my tank I am tired of looking at the great shelf lol.
I know for a fact that the 250 will be good for a light lumark pendant will be the best
