lmao awsom I have no problem with that. Compared to what lmao

I was doing research today and I found that, the hanna meeter tests down to point 0.001 but it does not test siclitates in the water and that is a big thing.

Hence buying the silicate test kits

I read that if water changes of at least 30% monthly are done Silicates are reduced 74%.

What percentage of water do you change monthly?

Well yestarday was alot of fun,

I washed the filter sock (new one) that I bought, with cold water no soap nothing. Added it into the tank and my skimmer went bubble happy. I do not know if was reciving micro bubbles.

Well anyway, I have noticed the resor working on the sps very well. I noticed alot of color comming out in different corals and one of which has a greenish glue hue to it. (pictures to come).

I am also adding a 68k and blue pluse bulbs in the sump to grow out some sps I have recently fragged.

I need to find a way to rig the bulbs and mount them into the sump area.

testing has concluded:

alk is 10.6
cal is 460
mag is at 1490
salt ocianic and level is 1.27

ppm zero phosphates (hanna test meeter)

I am dosing mb7 3ml sunday, biofule 3ml sunday.

In the dosing scedual I want to dose on different days not every sunday or thursday night. I am concluding that if I dose on different days the coral will not be co dependant on the dosing.

I am also dosing 3 ml of restore every day and I have noticed a big difference in the coral and growth rates. I have white growth areas and white tips on all sps.

I have dosed iodine with the api test kit and I have 0.03 iodine

Future:
silicate test kit
potasium test kit.

I have noticed that the sps respond well to the dosing and suspended feeding I have been doing, I tried a new test where I am leaving out my water with the salt in it for 1 day and then adding to the tank through a hose that has air bubbles poring into it to provided the best oxygenated water for the tank. I am adding the water into the sump and letting the water aclimate to the correct temp and cal and mag and alk.

2hrs later of waiting for the water to aclimate i start a small return flow for about 10 minuts and then increase the flow to get the tank aclimated to the water.

When I dose the mb7 and bio fule I turn off the skimmer and reactors for 2 hrs.

I have up the dosage of gfo from 65 grams to 70 grams and the higest I will go will be 75 grams and I am also changing out my carbon every sunday

This may be a stupid question but I'm new to systems which include a sump, filter sock and all other gadgets...

When you say you rinsed the filter sock with cold water... Did you use RO/DI or tap water? I was wondering if the sock can absorb phosphates from tap if that's what you used to rinse it...

I turn the sock inside out, run sink water or the hose (if its warm outside) thru it, Then throw them in the washing machine with the dogs blankets, then in the dryer. I have a bunch of them so while one is washing them others are being used.

All I do is turn them inside out. Run them thruw water/"power wash" (tap) then throw them in the washer with some uncented just plain bleach ..hang them let them air dry and they are good as new.. Never had a problem. With them never test them for anything.. The only thing I test water is tds when I make water.. That's it
