Started my led build today. It consist of 60 XRE Royal Blue and 36 XRE Cool White. I first made a frame out of angle and square aluminum from Home Depot. I am using two 8 1/2" x 24" Heatsinks along with two 3 1/2" x 24" Heatsinks. I have 8 meanwell ELN60-48D drivers that I will be wiring in a series of 12 leds to each driver. I will then hook the meanwells up to my Apex controller for dimming. These are only the blues that I have mounted so far. I am still waiting for the other heatsink to finish the blues and then add the whites. The first pic is the pattern I am using for each 24" Heatsink.

Looking real nice. I am curious about the almost 2:1 ratio of LED's. Were you worried about not getting enough blue out of the lights? Asking as I am still going back and forth about a DIY for my 65. Looking forward to the updates!

I started all fresh with new ones. I went with the 60 to 36 because I am currently running a 1:1 ratio on my 65 gallon and I want more of a pop during my lighting hours. I will have 12 blue LEDs stay on at night for moonlights, 6 from each side. As for the stand you can see the build from the beginning to end. It's not that hard if you got some carpentry skills. I'm sure you can make one just like it. Thank you for the compliment. Patience is key and take your time with everything. Do it once and do it right.

Thanks guys, I'm looking to have this fixture done by the middle of next week. I'm going to get a piece of black acrylic to mount my drivers to above the heatsinks and add some clear fans with blue led's to keep the heatsinks cool:smile:

I'm peaking in my cycle. Nitrates are rising now. Hope it clears soon, I'm still going to leave everything in the 65 gallon till this is clear of everything. I hope I'm able to fit the tremendous amount of frags I pre-ordered from the swap lol
