gotcha. So you're not too far off from the finished product. I suppose the final cost will depend how in depth you are going with the extras like wiring and plumbing. overall, they shouldn't be too bad as far as cost. I went with a stain for my stand rather than paint.

i built a stand and hood for a 120G out of oak veneer and stained it a few years back. It ran about $500 it also included the hardware.
As for the structure i used 2x4 and plywood, i then used the oak panels.

On my 180 with wood, varnish marine grade, silicone, screws, and hinges it came to around $350. I had all the tools or borrowed them.

Also my stand is higher than the norm. It is 72 x 24 x 44, the extra height is awesome in that I can have a larger skimmer and more space to work in all around.
