percula clown question

what are the light black patches on it, is it sick or supposed to be like that ?

got the fish bout a week ago eating great..

If it's hosting something, it's normal.

if not, a pic is needed to tell whether it had parasite.

My false perc had some black splotches when I adopted it and they starting going away after a few months. The previous owner says he always had the birthmarks for years but after having him in my tank for 6 or 7 months, they all went away. Not sure why, so I'm tagging along.

Usually those patches come from stings of the corals/anemone when they are hosting them.

However, some are infection due to wounds caused by parasites.

They are different but requires trained eyes to tell.

Hey I made a post and then saw this one afterwards. I don't wanna hijack but my post is "spots on naked clownfish". I have a few pics and was wondering if we are seeing the same type of thing on our clowns?
