Red sea max 250

does anyone have a RED SEA MAX 250 and if so what are your likes and dislikes. im think of getting one. im looking for some feed back.

I currently own the red sea max 130. it's my first tank and i love it. I have no problems with it so i am assuming the 250 is a lot better. I have many healthy corals and fish so i would highly recommend. The only negitive comment is that i wish the tank was bigger. I know the 250 is a larger size but after being in the hobby a while i would want bigger.

One of the return pump is a little too strong so you might want to tee off with some loc-line. But all in all a good tank.

I just got everything on mine set into place and I will be adding water as quickly as my RO unit will make it. hopefully later tonight... But all in all I am really impressed with the construction of the tank. Really solid and nothing flimsy, well thought out.

I've got 2 Rea Sea Max 130's and I love them think they are great little systems. I'm trying to convince one of my friends to get a 250 in his new house we'll see how that goes.

I have one for 10 months. I had to add a chiller. I wish the bottom was set up to house the chiller. I used one of the pumps to run watter to the chiller. I added a phosphate binder (little fish) and an auto top off. I took out the ceramics and the filter floss because its gets so clogged up. The only draw back is the tight space at the back. Also the timer can only be set up as on and off. I can't set it up to turn on 2 bulbs then the rest. That's it for now. Good luck. Got mine for 1500 from steve at wonder world of fish but he closed down shop.

i have had mine for 8 mths now had major problems with the skimmer could not get it to work right and the adjuster screw broke off but i called red sea and had a brand new one at my door in two days the only ***** i have is how testy the skimmer is i need to adjust it all the time... other then that i love the tank

Cathym1078 is there more than one plug for the lights if so set it up on another timer.

Have the 130D but the filtration chamber is so thin and they give you some crappy stock media so I trashed it and got the mod from Intank.com.Media basket goes underneath the intake but can't put anything bulky like big media bags.Inhibits the flow a bit so pretty much Chemipure and Purigen and using my Tunze 9002 skimmer instead of the stock skimmer.Thanks to Russ and Jim for giving me a good deal on the tank and stand.
