I picked up two unbelievable, bumpy, multicolored Linckias. They are hardy like the Linckia Multiflora but even more colorful. $25 each

Pix to come very soon. Will speak for itself.

How large? How hardy compared to bristle stars?

btw- i might be interested if you think they'd be fine in my 16g...

its been up and running 9 months or so...

be honest about it in my tank- if it needs more space, volume, etc I wouldn't want it. I have a few brittle stars that do great- but I know they are pretty indestructible...

Of course I'm being honest, that's why I didn't just give you a blanket, yes. I want to qualify any recommendation with the right answers from you first. :grouphug:
A 16 gallon is definitely on the small side. Being 9 months old, you are approaching a decent maturity level. I have a 16 gallon and a 75 gallon. I have a Linckia in my 75. I would not put one in my 16. First, my 16 is only 5 months old, but I just think it's too restrictive in size for a Linckia. JMO. If anyone else has any comments about this, I'd welcome them.

nah- I'll pass on it.. I'll wait until I upgrade to my 37.

I think that's a wise move. It might have been fine in the 16, but I hate jeopardizing any livestock like that.

I agree they are beautiful, I agree that a 16g. is too small (they need to roam the reef for food),but I disagree that it is a Linckia sp. more likely Fromia monilis or related species. Still reef safe, and equally delicate. Randy

Thank you Randy. I sit corrected by our resident expert. It does appear to be Fromia Monilis .

Please don't label me an "expert"... they are not treated well on reef boards:)

We are not a reef board......We are a family, a community. We don't treat each other like strangers. No worries Randy. :grouphug:
