Hey Guys,
Well stopped by there this morning, and got myself a very nice yellow fiji for half the price.....:flower:...It was in great condition when i spotted it and was very big opened up...They also have a good tank full of Hard corals if anyone is interested left....Actually saw a green cap/plate the size of 2 frisbees in there...Only if i had the rooom......:Up_to_som As for the softies its really hit or miss to be honest, as i was walking out i spotted a nice rock filled with small pink zoos, which i wish i had the extra cash for...

As for the main display tank, I dont think they will budge on that one, but only time will tell until the 26th...I'll be keeping a close eye on that one....:bigeyes2:

I saw Sal picking up lunch today at a deli. I asked him about the sale. He said it's mostly the corals @ 50% off. All the live rock is 2.99 per lb. the saltwater dry goods he will be keeping for his service customers. All the dog food is 50% off and I believe his suppliers are taking back whatever is left in pet supplies. He will be selling off most of the show tank. I'm getting there first thing on Sat. for that. He told me he wouldn't be in the store today. It's sad to see this place close.... He set my tank up and I bought a lot of nice stuff there. Sal is a great guy.

I just stop by this afternoon to maybe pick up some supplies but the kid told me the sale was just on corals ,they still have about 4 tanks with corals it's hit or miss as Chris5 said it depends on what you are looking for .

That should have been CLEARLY stated in the first post~

On May 26th will be closing the retail store. There will be 50% off much of the remaining livestock and supplies. Lots of nice corals and rock.

But it's not really fair if people are going out their way or making long trips to get there.

Update May 20th..

Hey Guys,
Went in there again this morning bright and early, Sal was there, great guy...asked him a bunch of questions regarding stuff in the store...Heres what i found out:

1. Main display tank is sold (more or less) and he is giving the guy until Monday to deal with it, if he doesnt show by monday, than corals must go but:

2. You have to have your name put on a list and explain what you would be interested in, colony or frag, no prices as of yet....Also some smaller but more rare corals in that tank will be going to sals place, he is building a 30+ gallon tank....

3. Most of the good corals i saw yesterday, were now gone this morning (the other small frag of yellow fiji, the pink zoo colony etc...but they do have smaller things still avaiable as well as some nice plate corals left pretty decent sized....) Corals, whats left are still 50% off....

4. All live rock (cured) is 2.99lb ..(A good amount left) ...

5. If anyone is interested on this one, I also found out that Green 40 flakes (made up of strictly greens) great product for tangs etc..that i bought there about 6 months ago is now discountined...

Yeah there are some tanks available high on top of the shelves in the store but havent seen anything larger than like a 30g ....If you want to go there and check things out you better hurry they are closing the 26th...Also there show tank is being broken down tomorrow thru thurs nite from what ive heard, still awaiting prices .....

nah they gave all the breeders back the dogs that were left....and guess what i didnt get a call on the display tank so i am assuming someone went in there and bought most of the major colonies....

This is really sad. Sal's shop was one of the best in New York/NJ... Real sorry to hear the bad news. When Sal closed Total Marine I went into mourning...

Yeah, he had a shop with the name "Total Marine". It was THE BEST place, period. He used to have SPS corals that I have never seen since. (One that I bought and was wiped out by RTN was a "glowing" powder/neon blue Acropora!) All at the low price of $19.99 per small colony.

He used to also do quite a bit of mailorder.

Well they are officially closed, i went by there thursday and they were closed an hour earlier than expected, and there was a ladder in front of the display tank but did not look like much was gone...Oh well, now on to the hunt for a new marine store in lower westchester county with decent prices, anyone care to search with me lol ...:grouphug:

Hey Deano, has Louie marked his tanks with any prices yet? Unmarked tanks always make me feel like I'm not one of the good ole boys and I'm getting the 'premium' pricing.
