i want to buy a camera that can take awesome macro shot. don't know if digital cameras are best. also wouldn't mind if i can slao take nice zoom pics (far picks). Recommendations please. my priority is nice macro shots.

If you're not going to get really into photography, I'd say not to get the digital rebel. It's a really nice camera, and i's cheap, but to get a good lens you're going to need to sink some cash.

There are a bunch of cameras that are half of what the Rebel costs. Most of the Nikon point and shoots have decent macro lenses.
