Jennie, I have a 48" 2x65watt current PC light with 2 moon lights for sale (legs included). The bulbs are 50/50 10k and actinic and have approximatley 3-4 months of use left on them. You can have it for $80. PM me
I have a 48" T5 ( I know, that's not what you asked for) canopy that I made for my 55. It has an icecap ballast and 4 48" bulbs. I currently run it with 3 bulbs and if you're looking for CF I'd run it with two. It'll give you much better punch then CF. When I ran CF on my 55 I had to keep my zoas up near the top to keep them happy. Stuff just didn't grow on the bottom half.
I'd part with it for $150 it comes with 4 individual icecap T5 reflectors, 4 bulbs, icecap 660, end caps and standoffs and a natural wood canopy. All wired up and ready to go. Oh and it has moonlights as well.
fritz, i would go with t5, this tank will be my husbands first tank he is setting up, so at first it will be fish only, but later he wants to add xenia, leathers and the like. do you have a pic? and how many watts are each bulb?
I'll put up some pics tomorrow I don't have any now. 48" T5 bulbs are 54 Watts each. With an icecap ballast they run about 80 Watts each because the icecap ballast overdrives them. They'll punch all the way down to the sand with ease. I've got all my zoas and even some acros on my cuttingboard! One of the bulbs is a UVI Actinic, 2 are GE Starcoats (daylight bulbs) and 1 is a Geissman 11k bulb (kind of a white/actinic bulb)
There is one catch.....I'm switching from my 55 to a 58 and I don't have the metal halide ballast yet for the new tank so I haven't swicthed over yet. Once I get my ballast you're more then welcome to the lights. Should be by the end of this week perhaps a bit earlier.
