I forgot which one that I used for my 60gal cue tank but there are number of really good ones that talk about closing the stand, including using magnets to place the covers on, which makes it easy to remove when you need access. I guess it also comes down to how handy and good you are at doing the work, I was just happy that my stand came out completely level.

I will be happy if I can make it level also.
I was thinking out some magnets or hooks for the front and one side.
I want as much access to inside the stand as possible.

Also, since the tank will be acrylic you have to support the whole bottom (as opposed to glass where you support the edge only).
Any thoughts on using felt or foam under the tank on the plywood?

If the tank is acrylic you need to have a piece of wood supporting it from underneath. If you look on You Tube you'll find some people talking about this too. As for foam, it's good to put a sheet underneath, as this will adjust the level of the tank as it's settles. Fry(Frank) told me about this, the only problem that I had was finding a large sheet of thin stro-foam. Also, very important make sure the wood is all the same size and squared on the ends. I got wood from Lowes and almost all the pieces were off, it made it a lot hard to get the tank level.

I am planning on getting the wood from Home Depot so I will try to get the guy to be a little extra carefull when cutting.
Thanks
